So how can you incorporate your brand into your resume? Here are some tips to consider:
Create a Solid Branding Statement
One of the first ways to add your brand to your resume is by incorporating a branding statement. A branding statement is one or more sentences that communicate who you are in the workplace:
Executive Assistant with 10 years of experience assisting the company CEO, coordinating executive business meetings, managing internal communications, developing filing systems, and organizing travel itineraries. Highly skilled multitasker with top-level organizational skills and experience communicating with employees at all corporate levels.
After writing your branding statement, place it near the top of your resume to help employers quickly gauge your qualifications.
Develop a Theme That Weaves Throughout
Another great way to brand your resume is by developing a theme. First, it is important to take a good look at the job you’re applying for to gauge what they want in an employee. Then find examples of ways that you’ve made a difference in your roles with past employers, choosing examples that fall in line with qualifications the company you’re applying with is looking for.
Next, create a theme that shows you are consistent in your field. For instance, if you work in public relations, communications and public relations should be a common theme. You want that theme to be consistent from the branding statement at the top all the way through to the education you share at the bottom of the page.
Add Your Social Networking Profiles
Finally, it’s a good idea to incorporate some profiles, websites, or blogs you’ve developed or contributed to that fall directly in line with your brand. This way, the reader will be able to click on the link or search this information online to find more personal details that brand you as a top talent in your field.
Incorporating your brand into your resume is critical if you want to help yours stand out from the others that hiring managers will see during an application process. So take time to show that you are an asset to your field by adding your brand to each resume you write.
