How many years of experience do you have as a resume writer? 13 years. I started out working with a firm (company confidential) that specialized in executive resume writing for job seekers earning $100K+. Since then, I’ve worked with job seekers all over the world.

How many years of experience do you have in recruiting, HR, or making hiring decisions (interviewing, screening, hiring)? I have recruited, interviewed, and hired employees for privately owned small businesses, as well as resume writers for a private company. This included advertising the role, reviewing applications and resumes, issuing test projects and trial runs, and training employees on company processes and procedures.

What certifications do you hold? I have a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) designation.

Degrees? I’m a former print journalist who holds a bachelor of arts degree with an emphasis on communication.

What’s your favorite career tip or piece of career advice you wish every job seeker knew? Don’t be afraid to really sell yourself. Think long and hard about the unique ways that you’ve contributed to the company and objectives and spotlight them using strong and active language.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing resumes and working with job seekers? I love books, music, and movies. I also love to swim, go to the beach every chance I get and be out in nature. What gives me the most joy is my faith and my family.
