How Sabrina Lovino Created Her Dream Job

How do you really want to spend your life? Slogging away at a job that you’re not passionate about—or living your dream?

Sometimes, if you’re going to find real fulfillment, you have to make your own job—and that’s exactly what Sabrina Lovino did. She’s the founder of the website, JustOneWayTicket.com, and over the course of the past few years, she’s traveled to more than 50 countries worldwide. Will she ever come home? Probably not.

Sabrina always loved traveling, and one day she realized that she didn’t just want to go from vacation to vacation—she wanted to travel full-time. Of course, without a source of income, that wasn’t going to be possible—so she had to turn traveling into a source of income.

She started by blogging—and she was good at it. In just one month, her travel blog got more than 80,000 hits. Sabrina had found her niche; she was a travel blogger! Given the astounding success of her blog, it wasn’t long before tourism agencies began inviting her to come to their countries, airlines offered to fly her to exotic locations in exchange for a mention in her blog, and hotels offered her free rooms as a trade-off for reviews.

How was such success possible? Sabrina thinks it was because she really believed in what she was doing, and she was able to channel that into a full-time job. Chucking the nice apartment and the car was a piece of cake—all she wanted when she was at home was to be somewhere else.

Does she earn a lot? No. But what does she need? A new horizon, a view of different seas, new friends from different cultures. Enough to eat, and a place to lay her head at the end of the day. Most of this is provided for her in exchange for a few words in her wildly popular blog.

Sabrina’s philosophy is that you’ll never be happy by making a lot of money. You’ll find it by doing something that you truly love. Think about what you’d like to do if you didn’t have to worry about earning money. Then go out and do it. Real success doesn’t come with dollar signs attached. Decide what you want out of life, and then pursue it—and structure it in such a way that you can make enough money to continue pursuing it.
