How many years of experience do you have as a resume writer?

I have nearly 7 years of experience as a resume and LinkedIn profile writer. I’ve worked with clients across the globe and love helping people find their next role.

How many years of experience do you have in recruiting, HR, or making hiring decisions (interviewing, screening, hiring)?

I was a talent sourcer and recruited employees for almost 3 years, including interviewing them. I worked for an Education Technology company and a small recruiting firm. I loved the challenge of finding the right candidates for the recruiters. I also learned a lot about what recruiters are looking for on resumes and how they read them or skim them at first glance. I did the same thing as a talent sourcer.

What certifications do you hold? 

I hold certification from the Resume Writing Academy for Academy Certified Resume Writer (ACRW) and Academy Certified Profile (LinkedIn) Writer (ACPW).

Degrees? 

A bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history.

What’s your favorite career tip or piece of career advice you wish every job seeker knew? 

Don’t blast out resumes one right after the other. Make sure to read the job description, not just skim it and edit your resume to fit each job. I know it takes a bit of extra time, but it can make all the difference.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing resumes and working with job seekers? 

I actually love writing in my spare time, creative fiction. I can be found reading or spending time with my chocolate lab fur kid.
